Duration: 5-15 minutes
Items needed: gua sha (we recommend: Butterfly Gua Sha, or Crystal Gua Shas), an oil (we recommend: Elixir Facial Oil), or a moisturizer
Directions:
- Prepare Your Tools and Space: Have a clean gua sha stone and a facial oil ready. Find a quiet place to sit where you won’t be disturbed.
- Set an Intention: Take a few breaths and decide what you’d like to focus on, whether it's releasing stress, enhancing self-love, or simply being present.
- Warm-Up with Breaths: Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and imagine a calm, cleansing energy surrounding your face.
- Apply Oil: Gently massage oil onto your face to ensure the gua sha tool glides smoothly.
- Begin with the Jawline: Place the gua sha tool at the center of your chin, slowly moving it along the jawline toward your ear. Focus on the pressure, letting go of any stored tension.
- Move to the Cheeks and Forehead: Glide the tool from the sides of your nose out to your temples, then from the brow to the hairline, using light, steady pressure. Repeat on each side.
- Finish with the Neck: Sweep the tool down the neck, helping guide any stagnant lymph or energy away from the face.
- Conclude with Gratitude and Relaxation: Place the gua sha tool aside, gently press your hands to your face, and take a few final breaths. Thank yourself for this mindful moment of self-care.
