Self-Care Q&A: Hannah Fastov

Entering a new decade really makes us think about what matters, and for us, that hasn’t changed since we first opened our virtual doors. What matters most to us is YOU! We’ve always been obsessed with concocting the best of the best natural skincare because skincare is a great way to incorporate putting yourself first daily...a.k.a practicing self-care!

While we can design products fit for any lifestyle or need, we know no one knows self-care more than, well, yourself! So, for all of 2020 we will be spotlighting green beauty enthusiasts, boss babes, Honey Belle team members, AND even our very own customers in a special Q&A series centered around all things self-care.

Follow along and get inspo for new ways to love on yourself or if you have some awesome tips and want to share, let us know here. Ready. Set. Self-care.

Meet Hannah 💛

Meet Hannah or @hanmich to the IG world. She grew up in Westchester, NY, went down to DC for college and then made her way to NYC where she currently lives with her new husband (they got married in November 2019!). Hannah is always on-the-go running from workout classes to meetings to dinner with friends, which is what led her to start her company Go Dash Dot - a collection of functional and fashionable bags. When she’s not working (which is rare) you can find her traveling and eating all the ice cream she can find!

Can you walk us through a typical day for you?

My days are crazy and never the same, but I do always start my day with a workout. It helps me wake up and organize my mind before my day begins. Then it's off to meetings, photoshoots, emails, etc. My husband is an amazing chef, so I love eating dinner with him at home. I find sitting down to dinner, without my phone, and having a conversation is a great way to decompress at the end of a long day. Of course this doesn't happen as much as I'd like given my schedule (so it's usually a Sweet Green Salad I bought at 4pm and don't get to eat until 10pm), but we try. Then it's bedtime!

What are your favorite ways to self-care?

Working out is one of my favorite ways to self-care. I find it is the best way for me to completely disconnect for 45 minutes and focus on something positive for my mental and physical health. Aside from working out, I try to practice self-care when I have time and remember. It usually comes in the form of a 10 minute back massage at a nail salon or a quick facial at Heyday. I also love a good face mask if I'm feeling blah and don't have a lot of time.

What are some things that cause you stress? How do you manage?

Time! I find that there is never enough time to get through my daily tasks, put out all the fires that inevitably pop up, network, plan ahead, and spend time with family and friends. I make a lot of lists and use a lot of post-its.

What advice related to self-care do you wish you received growing up?

My mom always told me, “Wear sunscreen and do not lay in the sun.” I wish I listened!! So I guess I wish I just listened to the great advice I received :)

Can you tell us more about skincare and self-care?

I am obsessed with Naturally Serious Skin Cold Press Peel Pads. I love using them after a workout if I don't have time to shower or during the summer. I also love all Laneige products.

I am OBSESSED with my Honey Belle Jade Facial Roller and use it every morning and night. I love putting it in the freezer before using it, too. If you don't have one - get one!

That's all for now! Know someone whose self-care game is on point? Send us a message and we'll ask ALL the questions.
