For the past 30 years, October has been dedicated to Filipinos as Filipino American History Month (FAHM). Filipinos are the second-largest Asian American group in the United States and the third-largest in California.
October commemorates the first recorded presence of Filipinos in the continental United States. On October 18, 1587, the “Luzones Indios” came ashore from the Spanish galleon Nuestra Senora de Esperanza and landed at what is now Morro Bay, California.
Filipinos have played a significant role in American History as active members of the health field, service industry, hospitality, technology, education, government, armed forces and construction, among many others.
In honor of Filipinos and Filipino American History Month (FAHM) we put together a list of Filipino Founded Beauty Brands - born in the Philippines and brought to the continental U.S. that you can support!
