Women’s History Month Hits Different This Year — Here’s Why

Women’s History Month has always been a time to reflect on the stories, struggles, and contributions of women throughout history. But this year, it feels profoundly different for me. As a new mom to a 7 month old daughter, having recently experienced my first pregnancy through a home water birth, my perspective on womanhood has shifted in ways I never imagined.

Becoming a mother has given me a newfound appreciation for the experiences women go through—not just the historical figures we celebrate this month but every woman who has carried life, nurtured, healed, fought, and persevered.

A Newfound Respect for the Feminine Journey

Going through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum has been an eye-opening experience, showing me just how much women navigate and endure.. The strength it takes to grow, birth, and nourish a child is beyond words. I now understand, in a visceral way, why honoring women isn’t just about history books—it’s about recognizing the everyday warriors, the mothers, the daughters, the sisters, and the caregivers who shape the world.

Having an unmedicated home birth was an experience that stretched me in ways I never expected. It was raw, intense, and incredibly empowering. It reminded me of the countless women before me who birthed without modern interventions, relying on their bodies’ innate wisdom. That experience deepened my connection to the lineage of women who have carried life, endured pain, and emerged stronger.

My mom recently visited us for her birthday weekend!

This Year’s Women’s History Month is Personal

This year, Women’s History Month feels a little different for me. I look at my daughter Lotus Bloom and wonder what stories she will hear, what challenges she will face, and how I can help shape a world where she knows her power from the very beginning. I want her to grow up understanding that being a woman is not just about strength—it’s about intuition, resilience, and the ability to create and nurture life in all its forms.

This month, I’m celebrating the everyday women who inspire me—mothers, birth workers, healers, and all those who embody the divine feminine in their own way.

What’s Next?

I’ll be sharing more about my home birth experience (in a different blog post!) — what I learned, what surprised me, and what I’ll carry forward. If you're curious about birth, motherhood, or just the beauty of life's transitions, I’d love for you to join in on the conversation.

Every Friday at 11:11 AM, we’re sharing new blogs on topics that support your journey—whether it’s personal growth, self-awareness, deepening self-love through self-care, nurturing your well-being and skin, or connecting with your higher purpose. We hope these reflections inspire you to create more intentional moments in your life.

For now, I’m embracing this month as a moment to reflect, to honor the strength of women in all its forms, and to celebrate the journey we are all on—wherever it may lead.

What has shaped your view of womanhood? Let’s continue the conversation below in the comments 💛
